July 2 – Support a school in Uganda

You are all invited to an event that could make a giant impact on a special school in Uganda….a social justice prayer service will take place on July 2nd at Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft Mitchell KY at 7:00pm. This service will include a presentation and photo slide show about Maria Chal’s experience teaching in Uganda and participating in a school construction project in a remote village of the country.  The Mt Adams Chorus will be singing some lively African music and “Prayer of the Children” which is the theme of this event.   In addition to this prayerful meditation, there will be a meet and greet afterwards with fair-trade crafts from Uganda for sale. We will take open donations for the school during the prayer service, and even if you can’t make it all donations are welcome. You could truly make a difference in the life of a child.
St. Deirdre Ann Academy opened this month with grades one and two, yet construction is still underway as our new school grows from mere brick buildings to a thriving school community. Help us continue to build for grades three and four next year, and raise money to employ local teachers, cooks, security guards, and builders.

Did you know that: A truck load of bricks only costs $40, a 100lb. bag of cement costs $12, sand for the cement is about $25 per truck load. You can support this effort at: http://www.bcdcmicrocredit.org/donate/ If you want to to bring a check, make checks to the nonprofit,  Buseesa Community Development Center.
